Research ManagerJulian is an accomplished Research Manager with over three years of experience at BW Research, where he excels in leading complex projects and driving impactful research. With a Bachelor's degree in Economics and International Business from the University of California San Diego, Julian combines his strong academic foundation with practical expertise in economic impact analysis and modeling. In his role at BW, Julian manages a diverse array of projects, focusing on economic impact studies and comprehensive primary and secondary research. He brings a wealth of knowledge in many clean energy technologies, specifically offshore wind, to the research team. His work is distinguished by his specialized expertise in modeling and policy planning, particularly concerning workforce aspects of strategic investments in clean energy.
Julian has successfully led an abundance of BW's major projects, playing a pivotal role in securing key victories for clients. His work in economic benefits and workforce impacts was instrumental in helping RWE secure an offshore wind lease area and Community Offshore Wind's proposals for offshore wind renewable energy credits. As part of the modeling team in numerous jobs studies, Julian has contributed to significant findings used for workforce development planning and policy advocacy at the federal level. Additionally, he has worked on offshore wind supply chain, port readiness, and port planning studies nationally, including several evaluations of the potential benefits of the offshore wind industry on local communities and supply chains.
Julian’s technical expertise includes proficiency in IMPLAN, JEDI, Tableau, and numerous other data analytics software. He is multilingual, with proficiency in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, which has enabled him to run focus groups in various languages, translate surveys, and engage with local communities. Julian's international policy and trade expertise allows him to bridge regional insights with the broader global context. He is a flexible and organized project manager, known by clients for his communication skills and proactive approach. He is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for communities traditionally underserved or affected by social and environmental issues, and is committed to producing work that shapes impactful decisions and fosters environmentally conscious policies across the regions they serve.
