As a Data Manager at BW Research since 2012, Ryan leads research on resident and customer surveys, workforce and economic development studies, and market analyses. Ryan manages the survey design, iteration, and data collection processes at BW, and oversees the drafting and revision of all survey data materials and deliverables. He manages primary and secondary data collection for all projects, producing employment and related estimations for various industries, working on proprietary modeling tools, and leading the firm’s analysts in research activities.
Ryan’s industry research has focused on various sectors, including Clean and Advanced Energy, Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), healthcare, biotech and biomedical devices, aerospace and transportation, cybersecurity, manufacturing, software and gaming, among others, throughout the United States. Ryan has also led data collection and analysis of the energy efficiency industry in Canada. He has developed proprietary workforce modeling tools used by public entities in New York and New Jersey that will eventually be applied nationwide.
In addition to his work at BW Research, Ryan is an affiliated researcher for Joint Venture Silicon Valley and sits on the Oregon State University Master of Public Policy Alumni Advisory Board. Ryan received his Master of Public Policy degree with a concentration in International Environmental and Education Policy from Oregon State University and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Chapman University. When not focused on work, Ryan spends time with his family, either at their home on Cape Cod or at the local ice rink, where he serves as a Volunteer Coach for Cape Cod Canal Youth Hockey and as a board member for the Bourne Skating Club.
