Our firm leads the nationwide U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER) in partnership with the Department of Energy, the only energy employment quantification tool of its kind.

BW has been pushing the frontier of energy workforce research for nearly two decades and continues to expand its innovative research practices. Recent BW research advancements include developing the most up-to-date staffing patterns for energy technologies available nationwide; conducting detailed research on occupations and occupational transferability within energy industries; and updating the analytics for the U.S. Energy and Employment Report to include deeper dives into wages and demographics.

BW Research has developed a rigorous and replicable workforce needs assessment methodology that quantifies current employment, forecasts labor demand and supply under multiple scenarios, identifies training, certification, and skill gaps, and translates findings into actionable strategies and implementation roadmaps.

BW possesses extensive experience in analyzing, expanding, and supporting pipelines for the manufacturing and skilled trades workforce, including deep knowledge of their respective cross-cutting workforce ecosystems. We have published a wide range of studies analyzing occupational trends, training systems, and workforce transitions.

BW Research has supported the development of biotechnology workforce pipelines and conducted program evaluations to identify key on-ramps and advancement opportunities within the cutting-edge fields of biotechnology.

BW embeds community, access, and inclusion into our research processes and analytical frameworks, explicitly assessing disproportionate impacts on communities and identifying career-entry strategies through training access, career pathways, and support services.
