With the rise of energy efficiency technologies and programming in Massachusetts, BW Research was commissioned by the MA Program Administrators to produce a report identifying energy efficiency employer needs and opportunities for training and diversification across occupations. The study identifies gaps and needs in the energy efficiency workforce and provides details for energy efficiency career profiles in Massachusetts.
This report found key insights for this industry’s workforce, including hiring difficulties across vocational technical trades and the increasing demand for building operators and facilities technicians with interdisciplinary knowledge. The workforce development needs assessment concludes with recommendations to further support the development of the MA energy efficiency workforce.
