This 2025 iteration of the annual Connecticut Clean Energy Industry Report, commissioned by the Connecticut Green Bank, found that Connecticut’s clean energy sector reached a record high of nearly 47,300 jobs, growing by 2.8 percent over the year and outpacing statewide employment growth.
The findings from this study highlight the central role of the Energy Efficiency industry in the state, which accounts for nearly 77 percent of statewide clean energy employment and drove more than 80 percent of clean energy job growth in 2024. Growth was especially strong in HVAC-related activities, as well as in Wholesale Trade and Manufacturing, suggesting continued expansion across Connecticut’s clean energy supply chain.
At the regional level, New London County exhibited a strong clean energy employment rebound, while establishment growth underscored the sector’s expanding business base. This report provides a foundation for continued job growth, stronger workforce and supply-chain pipelines, and energy, climate, and economic development.
