The 2024 San Diego Big Bay Boom report found that the event generated an estimated $100 million in total economic impact from non-local attendees, a 34% increase from 2022. Non-local visitors spent approximately $66 million across food, hotels, shopping, and entertainment, supporting local restaurants, hotels, retailers, and waterfront businesses.

The analysis also found that the event generated $4.6 million in total tax revenue, including nearly $600,000 in local tax revenues for the City and County of San Diego. For the Port of San Diego, the Big Bay Boom delivered a strong return on investment, with $22.16 spent at Port businesses for every $1 invested in the event.

The report highlights the Big Bay Boom’s continued role as a major regional tourism driver, community celebration, and source of support for the Armed Services YMCA’s programs serving military families.
